Typing in the bathroom…

So it’s about 7.30pm on a Friday evening, I’ve just got in from taking my eldest child to gymnastics, I didn’t even get a chance to even think about tidying the house before the baby woke up, and it’s another day where I have to weigh up getting kids in bed on time, or cooking dinner. The coast was clear so I quickly slipped way to hide in the bathroom, leaving the baby with my daughter for a moment. My poor daughter has another club early in the morning so I’m leaning towards a quick pizza or something like that, instead of the amazing shepherd’s pie I had planned to cook earlier. I just feel so guilty at times like this, why is it that no matter what we mums do it’s never enough. However, I did just hear my daughter refer to my amazing Shepherd’s pie as “ergh” and that she doesn’t really like it; so pizza for one it is then.

Don’t let guilt consume you. Do the best you can for your children, but if you look for it, you will always find something or somewhere you could improve, some mum who did it better and looked amazing whilst doing it. Just remember we all have our strengths and flaws it’s ok to be selfish once in a while, and hide in the bathroom from your kids now and then to get a little me time.

I can’t be the only one, where do you go to get a moment’s peace?

When my kids are playing I run to my room for 2 mins peace and quiet!! Sometimes I may even take a biscuit… Ok the packet! How many I eat, depends on how much time they give me!
